A total of 98 Players and 3 Re-Entries created a field of 101 Entries on Day 1A of the MegaPokerSeries Croatia at the Grand Hotel & Casino Adriatic in Opatija. Slovenian Casey Kastle (395,000) is leading the remaining field of 66 players after the first starting day and is the only participant after 8 levels of play to bag up more than 300k in Chips. In second place is Nicky Roeg (262,200) after a roller coaster day and the same also applied to Poker770 Pro Julian Herold, who had severe swings to his stack and ended up with 237,200 in 5th place overall. The Chip Counts can be found here: Click me.
Not all of the Poker770 Pros made it through the day as Stjepan Jokic walked into the Full House of MPS Madrid winner Samuel Bernabeu, the latter was off to a great start but could not keep up the pace and finished with 87,300. Sonja Kovac was unfortunate to lose Pocket Queens (versus K-Q off suit) and Pocket Jacks (versus K-6 suited) in the last 7 hands of the day and was eliminated at the very end of Day 1A. The same is also the case for the third place finisher from Madrid, Íñigo Rodríguez, but the Spaniard will re-enter on Day 1B to take a shot at the overall ranking in 2012.
Day 1B will kick off at 16:00 local time in the Casino Adriatic and the majority of online and live qualifiers as well as Team TurboPoker and Poker770 Pros will participate on the second starting day. Yesterday’s second Super Satellite awarded 9 Entries to the 770€ Main Event and among those that made it is also Daniele Nestola, who had a nightmare of a Day and will try better with the second bullet. You can find the live updates on the MegaPokerSeries website and Pokerfirma has German live blog, furthermore there will be a live stream available and the link will be provided as soon as it goes online.
The current top 10 after Day 1A are as follows:
